PRESIDENTS MESSAGE:

Hello to all – summer is closing rapidly. At this time I’m sure kids are back in school and all the teachers are back to work.

Johnny Appleseed is fast approaching. This is a very big money maker for our club. If you haven’t done so already, please come down to the club to help park cars. The dates are September 19 & 20. If you like to volunteer and can’t make it to sign up, please call Joleen Burns at 749-1731. It is a great time.

Progress is being made for the new bar. If you haven’t been to the club to see it, please come and see what progress is done. A big thank you to all that has worked on the bar.

See you at the club

Mary Kaye Keith

DEADLINE FOR NEWSLETTER: The deadline for the Turner Newsletter is Board Meeting night (third Tuesday of the month).  It is our aim to get each month’s newsletter to our membership by the first of the month. Please adhere to this deadline and make the job of doing the Newsletter easier.

Newsletter

Please submit articles for Newsletter on the form we have provided. Scraps of paper and napkins are too easily lost or overlooked. If you submit a full page schedule, results or notices; please do not mark on the back side (we can print a full page and do not need to retype). Want to use club facilities, dinning room, gym, pavilion or softball diamonds; whether it be for a Society function (N/C) or for personal rental (set charges). The dining room is available at no charge to only Turner members for a Funeral dinner for their immediate family (spouse, mother, father, grandparents and children). Contact 2nd VP – Jan Hayward 260-450-0960.

The board has given approval for another sale. Again the money will go to the building fund.

Please mark your calendar for April 15, 16 & 17 2010

The week of spring break we will accept donations – details will follow – just a note to save “stuff”.

Thank you, Val Miller

Johnny Appleseed – 2009

Johnny Appleseed Festival is Saturday September 19th and Sunday September 20th. This event is our second largest income for the yeas, just behind Germanfest. We need workers to help park cars, cook and serve food. The sign up sheet is at the club.

Volunteers should wear their yellow or pink shirts from last year (makes it easier for others to see you when parking cars!) If you did not work last year, the shirts will be available the day you work.

There are two shifts per day. Canned soda and water will be provided. A food ticket will be allocated at the end of your shift. If you work two shifts, then you will receive two food tickets. You may purchase alcohol as a “buy one, get one free”, the day you work.

Thank you! Joleen Burns

1st Vice President & Chairperson of Johnny Appleseed

Any questions please call Val Miller at 486-5861

EVENING VOLUNTEER COOKS NEEDED

In order to be able to serve food in the evenings and keep the bar running smoothly, we need volunteer cooks to work in the kitchen.

If you have an available evening and are interested in helping out, please sign the volunteer list hanging outside the bar.

You DO NOT have to have a bartender’s license and you buy one drink at full cost and receive a chip for your second drink.

EUCHRE

Saturday Night Euchre will start September 19, 2009 at 7:00pm.
