PRESIDENTS MESSAGE: I would like to start out by thanking the exiting board for all of their hard work and dedication to the club. By the time you read this message Germanfest will be over. I would like to personally THANK all the volunteers who worked. We also had third generation children working this year and I would like to say Thanks to them also. I’m sure you all had fun and I’m sorry I missed it this year. A special THANKS to Ed & Sarah Keller, Sheri Riley and Jim & Diane Williams for the long hours that they put in year in and year out. Our next BIG EVENT is the Bill Whetstone Memorial Softball Tournament. This will take place on July 10^th, 11^th and 12^th. We have been hosting this tournament for over 18 years. We will need VOLUNTEERS and a sign up sheet will be posted at the club for cookers and bartenders (who must have a bartender’s license). Please come out and help with this event as we will have 1000+ people in attendance this weekend. Other areas we are in need of help are cleaning the grounds and picnic areas. Children are welcome to help with this and are encouraged to participate. If you have any questions in regard to this please feel free to contact myself or Jim Markland (486-7187). It is really a good time!! On the calendar is also the KIDS CONCERT on July 18^th and we will again need help in the Kitchen and with Security. Please talk to Jim Markland in regards to Security and Joe “Bones” Wagner for the Kitchen. From what I understand this will be larger than the last one so all the help we can get will be wonderful. Get your foursome signed up for the Flood Relief Golf Outing on July 25^th at Lakeside. All the proceeds will go to the building fund. This is not restricted to just Turner members so tell your friends and have them sign up to! Look for details at the club. Any questions please feel free to contact Tim Longardner, Golf Chairman. I would like to say GOOD-LUCK to to Golfers from Fort Wayne that will be attending the National Golf Tournament that will be held in Akron this year. Hit them straight and long!!! I would like to announce that the Board has made the decision that the Bar will be closed on Sundays starting in July thru Labor Day. The bar will be open on the Sunday of the Bill Whetstone Memorial Tournament. If there is an event in the building on a Sunday during this time we will be open. DEADLINE FOR NEWSLETTER: The deadline for the Turner Newsletter is Board Meeting night (third Tuesday of the month). It is our aim to get each month’s newsletter to our membership by the first of the month. Please adhere to this deadline and make the job of doing the newsletter easier.

Newsletter

Please submit articles for Newsletter on the form we have provided. Scraps of paper and napkins are too easily lost or overlooked. If you submit a full page schedule, results or notices; please do not mark on the back side (we can print a full page and do not need to retype). Want to use club facilities, dinning room, gym, pavilion or softball diamonds; whether it be for a Society function (N/C) or for personal rental (set charges). The dining room is available at no charge to only Turner members for a Funeral dinner for their immediate family (spouse, mother, father, grandparents and children). A BIG THANKS to Bones and Tiny for helping with the Elvis Concert – Sorry Jan

Kudo’s to Kenzie, Kyle and Ali for picking all the weeds in the fountain area, out at the sign at the front entrance, helping me (Michelle Schmidt) after I trimmed all the bushes at the front entrance sign and in the fountain area. Cleaning & washing the bleachers, spraying down the pavilion, washing the picnic tables and hosing all the dirt and grime out under the bleachers.
